We have a mildly exciting happening at Hastings: Universal is filming a movie right across the street. They're filming Milk, starring Sean Penn. It's about Harvey Milk, "the first openly gay man elected to any substantial political office in the history of the planet," according to Time.

Anyway, I know, big deal. It's California. They film movies here. But people were excited, and I got pulled outside to snap a few pictures.
